Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026 · Complements the Privacy Policy

FanVancouver.com is an independent Vancouver travel guide run by one person in British Columbia. This page is the cookie notice Google AdSense and Canadian privacy law expect: what is set, why, and how to refuse it. We do not run a cookie wall that blocks the guide.

1. What a cookie is here

A cookie is a small text file a site or its vendor stores in your browser. Local storage and similar identifiers are treated the same way on this page. FanVancouver itself does not set a first-party marketing cookie. What you may see comes from security (Cloudflare) and, when ads are approved and served, from Google.

2. Cookies we use

We do not use Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or a first-party advertising ID.

3. Affiliate clicks (not a cookie we set)

Hotel, tour and cruise links on FanVancouver go through our /go redirect (Booking.com, Expedia.ca, GetYourGuide and similar). We may earn a commission if you book. Those partners may set their cookies after you leave this site. That is disclosed next to the links. You pay the same price.

4. How to refuse or delete cookies

5. Law and contact

This notice is meant to satisfy PIPEDA and British Columbia’s private-sector privacy rules as they apply to a small independent publisher, and Google AdSense’s requirement for a cookie disclosure. Binding detail on what personal data we hold is on the Privacy Policy. Questions: Contact.

FAQ

Questions travellers ask most

Does FanVancouver use cookies? +

Yes, a small set: Cloudflare security, and Google AdSense cookies if ads are served. Our own analytics (Umami) is cookieless.

Can I opt out of ad cookies? +

Yes. Use Google Ad Settings and your browser cookie controls. The site still works without ad cookies.
