💡 The One Thing to Know

The Fan Festival at Hastings Park is genuinely one of the best free events in Canada in 2026. Live music, giant screens, food from around the world, beer gardens, sponsor activities and the atmosphere of 30,000 international fans. Arrive early on Canada match days — it fills up completely.

What is the FIFA Fan Festival Vancouver?

The FIFA Fan Festival is the official public celebration zone for the 2026 World Cup. It's completely free to enter and runs from the day the tournament starts (June 11) until the very last day of the World Cup (July 19) — even after Vancouver's last match on July 7, the festival continues showing all remaining games.

Located at Hastings Park (PNE Grounds) in East Vancouver, the festival transforms one of the city's most beloved park and fairgrounds into a 39-day football celebration. Think Glastonbury meets the World Cup. Giant LED screens, live international music acts, food from 30+ vendors, beer gardens, interactive sponsor zones, FIFA merchandise and tens of thousands of fans from every nation on earth.

Festival Grounds Map

The festival is divided into several zones:

📺 Main Viewing Arena

The central area with the primary LED mega-screen (approx. 300m²) showing all matches. Standing and seated sections. The main screen area fills first on Canada match days — arrive 2+ hours early for a good spot.

🍺 Beer Gardens & Sponsor Lounge

Licensed area with official World Cup beer (Budweiser), other drinks and standing tables with screen views. Must be 19+ (BC drinking age). ID required at entry to this zone.

🍔 International Food Village

30+ food vendors representing cuisines from World Cup nations — Mexican street food, Moroccan tagines, Brazilian churrasco, Korean BBQ, poutine, fish and chips, halal options, vegan street food and much more. Prices range ~$8–22 per item (est.).

🎵 Live Entertainment Stage

Daily live music, DJs and cultural performances between matches. International headliners on big match days. Schedule posted at the entrance daily.

⚽ FIFA Interactive Zone

Sponsor-run interactive activities: penalty shootout simulator, juggling challenges, FIFA video game stations (EA Sports), merchandise stores, photo opportunities and World Cup history exhibits.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Zone

Dedicated family-friendly area with face painting, kids' activities and a smaller screen for families who prefer a quieter environment. Stroller accessible.

🏥 First Aid & Info

Medical station near the main entrance. Information booths staffed with multilingual volunteers. Lost and found, phone charging stations and accessibility services available here.

🎒 What to Bring to the Fan Festival

✅ Do Bring:

Government-issued ID — Required for beer garden entry. Essential even if you look over 19.
Cash and cards — Most vendors accept both, but card payment is faster. ~$50–100 budget for a full (est.) day.
Portable phone charger — You will drain your battery. Charging stations exist but have queues.
Light rain jacket — Vancouver June/July has occasional showers even on sunny days. Pack a packable jacket.
Sunscreen — Hastings Park is largely open-air. BC summer sun is intense 10 AM–4 PM.
Refillable water bottle — Free water stations throughout the festival. Vancouver tap water is excellent.
Your country's jersey or scarf — Team colours are celebrated. The more outrageous the better.
Comfortable shoes — You'll stand for 3+ hours on grass and pavement.
Small backpack or crossbody bag — Bags are searched at entry. Keep it simple.

❌ What Not to Bring:

Outside food and drinks — Not permitted. Food and drinks must be purchased inside the festival.
Glass bottles or containers — Strictly prohibited for safety.
Large bags, suitcases or backpacks over 30L — Security will turn you away. Use lockers at nearby SkyTrain or your hotel.
Drones — Prohibited over the festival grounds.
Flares, fireworks or smoke bombs — Strictly prohibited; will result in ejection and possible arrest.
Political flags or banners — FIFA rules: only national team flags and scarves permitted.

🍔 Food & Drinks Inside the Festival

The Fan Festival food village is excellent — more variety and better quality than typical outdoor events. Budget ~$15–30 (est.) per person per meal.

Food & drink prices at Fan Festival

Vendor pricing is set by individual operators and can change. We do not publish fixed menu prices without an official source. Check on-site boards at FIFA Vancouver Fan Festival when you arrive.

💡 Save Money on Food

The biggest lines (and prices) are right before kickoff. Eat 45–60 minutes before the match to avoid queues and get the best choice. Eat a snack before you arrive from outside — no rules on what you eat before entering. The free water stations mean you don't need to buy water inside.

Accessibility & Family Info

  • Wheelchair accessible: Yes — paved pathways throughout, accessible viewing areas near the main screen, accessible washrooms
  • Strollers: Permitted and manageable on most surfaces
  • Children: Free at all ages — the Family Zone has dedicated kids activities
  • Pets: Not permitted inside the festival grounds
  • Languages: Info booth staff available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Mandarin

FAQ — FIFA Fan Festival Vancouver

Is the FIFA Fan Festival in Vancouver actually free?

No — outside food and drinks are not permitted. All bags are checked at security. The festival has extensive food and drink options inside, including free water stations for your refillable bottle.
What time should I arrive for Canada matches?
For Canada games, arrive at least 2–3 hours before kickoff. The main viewing area fills completely, and the best spots go fast. The festival atmosphere even before the match is incredible — it's worth arriving early. On non-Canada match days, arriving 45–60 minutes early is usually sufficient.
