Canada lynx encounter notes for BC: rarity, body language, and calm exit strategies.

Lynx are ghosts of snowshoe-hare country. Encounters are uncommon; treat them with quiet respect and space.
Enjoy the rarity from a distance. Do not corner it. Speak softly, give the trail, leave room to vanish. They are not typically aggressive toward adults; still, do not approach for portraits, and keep dogs leashed — a chase benefits no one.
If a lynx holds position oddly long, back away without drama and choose another route. Report unusually bold behaviour to park staff.
