The 45th Vancouver International Film Festival runs 1–11 October 2026. That is later than the old “early September” habit — do not plan it as a Labour Day add-on. What is public now: dates, the VIFF Centre address, and when tickets go on sale. The film list launches 26 August; this page will not invent titles.
Ticket window (this week)
- Wednesday 26 August, 12:00 pm — program launch. VIFF+ members book first, until noon the next day.
- Thursday 27 August, 12:00 pm — public sale.
- Ticket packs and passes were already on sale on viff.org before the individual-film window.

Where it actually happens
Hub: VIFF Centre, 1181 Seymour Street. Other screens are announced with the program. From most downtown hotels this is a walk or one Canada Line stop to Yaletown-Roundhouse, then a few blocks north. Do not drive to Seymour at rush hour — parkades fill and the festival crowd is on foot.
How this sits next to the rest of fall
- September is still PNE (through 7 Sep), the Richmond Night Market (through 20 Sep) and Fringe (10–20 Sep). See September in Vancouver.
- October is VIFF first, then Fright Nights at Playland and the Writers Fest. October guide and Halloween 2026.
Dates and sale times from VIFF’s own 2026 page (checked 24 August 2026). Line-up, individual ticket prices and extra venues wait for the 26 August launch — we will not guess them.
