BC Place finished July 7. Hotel rates soften, fireworks return, seawall season peaks — pivot from match mode to summer travel.
✈️ From Vancouver Airport (YVR) to the City
🚇 Canada Line SkyTrain — Recommended
Peak hours (6:30–9:30 AM and 3–6:30 PM weekdays) cost more. For World Cup match days, treat all times as peak. Buy a Compass Card at the airport station for best value.
🚕 Rideshare (Uber / Lyft) — Convenient
Normal: $25–40 from YVR to downtown. Match day surge pricing: $60–120+. Rideshare is fine if you arrive at off-peak times (early morning or late evening). For match days, take the SkyTrain.
🚌 Airport Bus — Budget Option
The #424 and #620 buses connect YVR to Richmond and then to the Canada Line. Technically cheaper but much slower. Not recommended when SkyTrain goes directly and quickly.
🏟 Getting to BC Place Stadium
Address: 777 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6B 4Y8
Canada Line Best Option
Expo Line From East Side & Burnaby
🚶 Walk from Downtown
If you're staying in downtown Vancouver, BC Place is an easy 15–20 minute walk along Robson Street or through Yaletown. A pleasant walk on a summer evening. Take Robson → Homer → Pacific Blvd.
🚕 Uber & Rideshare to BC Place (Uber / Lyft)
Taking an Uber or Lyft to BC Place works well outside peak crowds. Set your destination to the Terry Fox Plaza / Smithe Street side (near Gate A) — drivers know it, and it keeps you clear of the Pacific Blvd congestion. For pickup after an event, walk one or two blocks toward Yaletown or Expo Boulevard before requesting: surge pricing spikes right at the stadium the moment a match, concert or game ends, and cars can't reach the closed streets anyway.
- Drop-off: Smithe St or Beatty St side — avoid Pacific Blvd 45 min before/after events.
- Pickup: walk to Yaletown-Roundhouse or Stadium-Chinatown to skip the surge zone.
- Cost from downtown: roughly $10–20 normally; can double during post-event surge.
- Cheaper & faster after events: the SkyTrain from Stadium-Chinatown (2-min walk) beats waiting for a surged rideshare.
🎪 Getting to FIFA Fan Festival (Hastings Park / PNE)
Address: 2901 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC V5K 5J1
🚌 Bus — Recommended (No Direct SkyTrain)
Expo Line + Bus Combo
🚲 Mobi Bike Share — Great Summer Option
Mobi e-bikes are abundant in East Vancouver and can get you from downtown to the Fan Festival in 20–25 minutes via the Adanac Bikeway (a protected cycling route through East Van). Dock at the PNE entrance.

🅿 Paid Parking Lots — Near BC Place
If you must drive, these are the best-value paid lots closest to the stadium:
🚲 Bikes, Scooters & Other Options
🚲 Mobi Bike Share
Vancouver's official bike share. 1,500+ bikes and e-bikes at 250 stations. Great for getting between venues. App: Mobi by Rogers. Classic: $1.25 unlock + $0.29/min. E-bike: $2.00 unlock + $0.39/min. Check current passes.
🛴 Lime E-Scooters
Electric scooters available throughout Vancouver. Unlock: ~$1, then ~$0.39/min (est., verify at li.me). Good for short trips — faster than walking, no parking hassle. Park at designated zones. Not allowed on SkyTrain.
⛴ False Creek Ferry
Tiny aquabuses cross False Creek between Yaletown, Olympic Village and Granville Island. A fun, scenic way to connect areas near BC Place. $4.25 per trip — worth it for the experience.
🚗 Car Rental Tips
Not recommended for match days. If renting for day trips outside Vancouver, major companies (Enterprise, Budget, Hertz) are at YVR and downtown. Book in advance — prices spike during World Cup. Evo and Modo car share are good short-term options for locals.
