These platforms offer buyer guarantees and verified listings. Never buy from individuals you don't know.

StubHub VERIFIED

Largest resale marketplace with FanProtect guarantee — if your event is cancelled or tickets are invalid, you get a full refund or replacement. Prices are market-driven, often significantly above face value.

✓ FanProtect guarantee  ·  ✓ Digital & mobile tickets  ·  ✓ 24/7 support
Seatgeek VERIFIED

Fraud Protection

🚨 Scam Red Flags — Don't Get Burned

World Cup ticket scams spike near match dates. Know what to avoid.

  • Craigslist / Facebook Marketplace / Kijiji tickets — Zero buyer protection. Scammers send fake PDFs or don't show up at all. Thousands of fans lose money this way every World Cup.
  • Tickets from strangers outside BC Place — Classic scalper scam. Tickets are either counterfeit, duplicates (both scanned at gate), or the seat doesn't exist. Never buy at the gate.
  • WhatsApp/Telegram "group" sellers — Cryptocurrency or e-transfer only, no receipts, disappear after payment. Huge scam vector for major events.
  • Sites that look like FIFA.com — Fraudulent sites copy the FIFA logo and design. Always go to fifa.com directly — never from a Google ad or email link.
  • ⚠️
Prices "too good" on resale — $50 for a group stage match — Face value is ~$65–350 CAD (est., Source: FIFA.com). Anything drastically below this is fake. Market prices are ABOVE face value right now.
  • ⚠️
Email transfer of PDF tickets — Real FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets are mobile-only (digital). They cannot be printed or sent as static PDFs. A PDF "ticket" is fake.
  • ⚠️
Sellers asking for wire transfer or crypto — Any legitimate resale platform processes through credit cards with chargeback rights. Wire/crypto = no recourse if scammed.
  • Safe payment methods — Use credit card only. Debit, e-transfer, crypto, or cash offer zero protection. Credit cards allow chargebacks if you're scammed.
  • Verify before the day — Transfer tickets 2–3 days before the match and confirm they work in the FIFA app. Don't wait until match day to discover a problem.
