Arriving at YVR Airport
Trains every 3–8 minutes from YVR International terminal. Fare: $2.85 Compass + $6.50 YVR AddFare = $9.35 (translink.ca). Waterfront Station (downtown): 26 minutes. 24/7 service during World Cup. Platform is directly inside the terminal, level 2.
Metered. Downtown: ~$35–50 CAD (~est.). Only take taxis from the official taxi stand (Ground Level, domestic/international arrivals). Do not accept rides from people approaching you inside the terminal.
Rideshares available from the designated pickup zone (Level 2, P1 parkade). Usually $25–40 CAD to downtown (~est.). Surge pricing on match days — check before ordering. SkyTrain is almost always faster.
1. Buy/activate SIM card (Fido/Telus/Rogers booths, Arrivals level). 2. Withdraw cash from ATM (RBC or TD at arrivals). 3. Buy Compass Card for SkyTrain at vending machines near the train platform. Load ~$20–30 for the first few days (est.).
