The first decision in Vancouver is not where, it is what kind. Registered massage therapy and relaxation or spa massage look similar on a booking page and are different products with different prices, different tax treatment and different paperwork.

If you have a shoulder that has hurt since the flight, book an RMT and keep the receipt. If you want an hour of quiet with hot towels, book the spa and do not pay RMT rates for it.

Prices are the lowest published rate at each studio, read from their own websites in July 2026. RMT rates in the city cluster tightly because insurance plans reimburse a set amount; spa pricing varies far more, and hotel spas sit well above the ranges here.
Booking and etiquette
RMT appointments at busy clinics go one to two weeks out, and the same-day slots that open are usually cancellations in the early afternoon. Arrive ten minutes early for a first visit; there is an intake form. Say clearly what pressure you want — therapists in this city ask, and “a bit deeper” halfway through is entirely normal.
Tipping an RMT is not expected, because it is a clinical service. Tipping in a spa is, at the usual 15–20%.
