Hotels and rentals within walking distance of BC Place, sorted by price band: Yaletown, Chinatown and Downtown picks for games and concerts.
BC Place sits at the edge of downtown, so most of the city’s hotels are technically walkable. The question on a match or concert night is which ones are still a short walk once the streets around the stadium fill and the SkyTrain platforms back up. Below are the thirteen that genuinely are, in one table with the address, an honest walking time to the gates and a price tier.
They fall into three rings: the hotels across the street on Beatty, Robson and Smithe; Yaletown and the Richards–Seymour corridor about ten minutes away; and the Gastown–Chinatown edge at twelve to fifteen. Two of these hotels have new names — the YWCA Hotel is now Hotel Willo, and the Sandman City Centre is now Sandman Signature Vancouver Downtown — so search for both names when you book.

Across the street (2–5 minutes). The Parq towers on Smithe, Georgian Court and Hotel Willo on Beatty, Hampton Inn and Hotel BLU on Robson, and the Sandman on West Georgia by Stadium–Chinatown station. You walk out of the lobby into the pre-game crowd and are back in your room before the station queue has moved. This ring tends to fill first for big concerts, so book it as soon as the dates are announced.
Ten minutes out (10–11 minutes). The St Clair and Moda on the Richards–Seymour corridor, the Victorian on Homer, and Opus in Yaletown. Close enough to walk, far enough to sleep, and usually a step down in price on event nights. Yaletown’s restaurant strip on Hamilton and Mainland is the easiest place for a pre-game dinner within walking distance of the gates.
The Gastown–Chinatown edge (12–15 minutes). Skwachàys Lodge on West Pender and the Cambie Hostel in Gastown. More character and often cheaper, but the walk back after a late show crosses quieter blocks near the Downtown Eastside — take the main streets or a short taxi. Chinatown itself is right behind the stadium and worth the detour for food.
Rogers Arena is next door, just east of BC Place, so these hotels serve both venues — see hotels near Rogers Arena if you are going to a Canucks game or an arena show.
The Canada Line runs from the airport straight into downtown. Get off at Yaletown–Roundhouse for Opus and Yaletown, or at Vancouver City Centre for the St Clair and Moda. For the Beatty Street hotels and the Parq towers, walk about ten minutes from Yaletown–Roundhouse, or change at Waterfront for the Expo Line to Stadium–Chinatown. Expect about 16% in taxes on top of the quoted room rate — 5% GST, 8% provincial tax and a 3% municipal hotel tax — and some hotels add a small destination fee that only shows on the last booking screen. Across-the-street rooms carry the biggest event-night premium, the ten-minute ring the smallest. When a big show is announced, book a refundable rate straight away: the nearest rooms go first, and a free-cancellation booking lets you switch if a better rate turns up later. JW Marriott Parq and the Douglas, the two Parq towers on Smithe Street, sit right next to the stadium. Georgian Court and Hotel Willo on Beatty Street, and Hampton Inn and Hotel BLU on Robson, are directly across the street. All of them are roughly two to four minutes from a gate.
Hotel Willo (formerly the YWCA Hotel) on Beatty Street is the cheapest bed across the street, with shared-bath rooms and community kitchens. The St Clair Hotel-Hostel on Richards and the Cambie Hostel in Gastown cost less again if an 8–15 minute walk and a shared bathroom are fine.
Hotel BLU on Robson Street has an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, and Sandman Signature Vancouver Downtown on West Georgia has an indoor pool and hot tub. Hampton Inn has a rooftop whirlpool rather than a pool.
Take the Canada Line. Yaletown–Roundhouse is the stop for Opus and Yaletown, and Vancouver City Centre suits the Richards and Seymour hotels. For Beatty Street and the Parq towers, walk about ten minutes from Yaletown–Roundhouse or change at Waterfront for the Expo Line to Stadium–Chinatown. The blocks between the stadium, Robson, Beatty and Yaletown are busy with the crowd after an event. East of Abbott towards Hastings the streets get quieter late at night, so if you are staying on the Gastown–Chinatown edge, keep to the main streets or take a short taxi.
