Victorian Hotel Review: Heritage Boutique Charm Near Gastown
Published 2026-07-12 ยท FanVancouver honest stay review
The Victorian Hotel is what happens when someone restores an 1898 guesthouse properly instead of gutting it: hardwood floors, bay windows, crown mouldings, and a small-hotel feel that chains cannot fake. It sits on Homer Street, between downtown's core and Gastown's restaurants.
๐จ What it's actually like
Rooms are boutique-small but beautifully kept; cheaper ones share bathrooms European-style, which is exactly how it keeps heritage charm at fair prices. Continental breakfast is included. There's no elevator in a building this old โ pack accordingly if stairs are an issue.
๐ Location
Homer & Pender, downtown. Gastown's steam clock, coffee and restaurants are 5 minutes on foot; Granville and Waterfront SkyTrain stations are both within a 7-minute walk. You can do your whole trip from here without transit if you like walking.
