Times Square Suites is the grown-up answer to "should we just get an Airbnb?" — a proper aparthotel at Robson & Denman where every unit is a full apartment: real kitchen, dining table, laundry, and a rooftop deck with barbecues overlooking the West End.

Suites are spacious by Vancouver standards, quiet, and professionally run — daily-hotel reliability with apartment practicality. Cooking with Granville Island market hauls and eating on the rooftop as the sun sets over English Bay is the kind of stay people write home about.

Robson & Denman, the very definition of location: Stanley Park entrance ~5 minutes, English Bay beach ~7, and Denman Street's international cheap-eats strip right downstairs. Downtown core is a 20-minute walk or short bus ride.

The trade-off you are making

This is an apartment, not a hotel room, at Robson and Denman — five minutes from the Stanley Park entrance, seven from English Bay, and directly above Denman Street's cheap-eats strip. For a family or a stay of four nights or more, the kitchen changes the arithmetic completely: breakfast and one other meal a day at home in a city with Vancouver's restaurant prices saves substantially more than the rate premium over a budget hotel room.

The corollary is that it makes no sense for a two-night trip where you intend to eat out anyway. You would be paying for a kitchen you will not open, and a plain budget room on Robson does the same job for less.

Who should book elsewhere

• Short stays with no cooking plans — the value only appears over several nights.
• Anyone who needs SkyTrain access daily — the West End has no station.
• Solo budget travellers — a suite is the wrong unit. Hostel-style downtown is a fraction of the price.
• People who want hotel service — housekeeping and front-desk provision at apartment properties is lighter than at a hotel.

🚕 Getting there from the airport

Canada Line to Burrard, then the #5 Robson bus to its western end — the bus stops within a minute of the door. Allow 45 minutes door to door for about $11. A taxi is $45 and takes half an hour. If you are arriving with a car, note that this corner is one of the harder places in the city to park on the street; use the building's parking rather than circling.

🚶 Within a ten-minute walk

The Stanley Park entrance is three minutes away and the seawall five, which is the whole point of this address. Denman Street's restaurants and the neighbourhood grocery are on the corner — genuinely useful when the room has a kitchen. English Bay is six minutes south, Second Beach and the outdoor pool ten minutes into the park, and Lost Lagoon is across the road.

📅 When to book

Suites with kitchens are booked by families and by people staying a week or more, so availability disappears earlier than at ordinary hotels — July and August often go three or four months out. The kitchen is what makes the rate work: two people cooking breakfast and one dinner in save roughly $60 a day against eating out, which closes most of the gap to a plain hotel room.

Is it actually beside Stanley Park?

Yes. Robson ends at Denman, and the park begins a block and a half further on.

Is a kitchen worth it for a short stay?

For two nights, no. From three nights up it changes the maths, especially with children.
