Sunset is in the busier half of Vancouver by raw count, and most of what gets reported is property crime rather than violence against people. Normal city sense covers it: lock the car and leave nothing on the seats.

Sunset: 1,156 reported crimes, up 10% on the year before; rank 9 of 24 by raw count, 4% of the city total. Theft from vehicles: 190; offences against a person: 74. Busiest block: the 300 block of Southeast Marine Drive, a big-box retail block (440 reports).
