Skyride gondola: ~$75–85 adult admission (online cheaper) — 1,250 m summit with city-to-ocean views, lumberjack shows, ranger talks and the grizzly bear refuge (two resident bears, Grinder and Coola's legacy programme).
The Grouse Grind: the famous "nature's stairmaster" — 2.9 km, 800 m vertical, 2,830 steps. Free up, ~$20 download ticket for the gondola down (one-way hiking only). Fit visitors do it in 1.5–2 h; locals treat it as a gym membership.
Getting there: SeaBus from Waterfront (the scenic 12-minute ferry your Compass card covers) → bus #236 to the base. ~45 min total from downtown.
🌉 Lynn Canyon: The Free Suspension Bridge
Capilano Suspension Bridge charges $69.95; Lynn Canyon's bridge is free, hangs 50 m over a rainforest gorge, and locals will tell you the surrounding trails are better. The 30 Foot Pool below is Vancouver's favourite (cold!) swimming hole. Bus #228 or #229 from Lonsdale Quay. Budget 2 hours with the loop trail to Twin Falls. This is the single best free half-day on the North Shore.
