YVR Airport to Vancouver Cruise Terminal (Canada Place): All Options
Published 2026-07-12 ยท FanVancouver Local Desk
Vancouver's cruise terminal is at Canada Place, downtown โ and it has one of the easiest airport connections of any cruise port in the world. Alaska-bound? This is your 30-minute problem, solved.
1๏ธโฃ Option 1: SkyTrain (cheapest, often fastest)
The Canada Line runs from inside YVR directly to Waterfront Station, which is a 3-minute covered walk from Canada Place. 25 minutes, ~$9-11 (includes the airport surcharge; tap your credit card, no ticket needed). Trains every 6-7 minutes. Fully luggage-friendly โ cruise passengers do this with full bags every day.
2๏ธโฃ Option 2: Taxi / rideshare
Taxis charge a zone flat rate from YVR to downtown โ roughly $38-45 to Canada Place, ~25-35 minutes. Uber/Lyft similar or slightly less off-peak. Worth it with 4 people or mobility-heavy luggage; otherwise the train wins.
3๏ธโฃ Option 3: Pre-booked shuttle
Cruise lines and private operators sell YVRโpier transfers at $25-35/person. Only sensible if you want zero thinking โ the SkyTrain is faster and a third of the price.
โฐ Timing your cruise day
- Boarding typically opens ~11am; most ships depart 4-5pm. A morning YVR landing is comfortable.
- Landing after 1pm? Go straight to the pier โ Canada Line, no detours.
- With hours to spare, the seawall by Canada Place, Gastown (5 min walk) and FlyOver Canada are all beside the terminal.
