FAQ

Are these live video streams?

No. DriveBC publishes still JPEGs that refresh on their interval (often a few minutes). Click a card to open that camera on DriveBC, including the day replay where they offer it.

Why did my search show zero cameras?

Search looks at all of B.C., not only the highway chip. Type Kitwanga and press Search — those cameras sit on Hwy 16 / 37 in the north, not on Hwy 99. The chip only filters when the search box is empty.

Can I use these stills elsewhere?

They are provincial public cameras under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia. Credit DriveBC. This page is a viewer, not the official source — confirm conditions on drivebc.ca before you drive.

Can I save a corridor to my phone?

Pick a highway chip, then Save or Share in the bar at the bottom left. Share opens the phone share sheet. Save remembers the road. Star individual cameras with ★ — My cameras opens first next visit (LocalStorage on your phone). Stills refresh from DriveBC about every minute; the list on this page updates about every half hour.

Which cameras are the Vancouver bridges?

The Bridges chip matches Lions Gate, Ironworkers / Second Narrows, Massey / Deas, Alex Fraser, Port Mann, Knight, Oak, Cambie and Granville. Confirm the live still on DriveBC before you leave.

When are winter tires required?

Most signed B.C. highways: 1 October – 30 April (some lower-snow routes end 31 March). M+S or three-peak mountain snowflake, 3.5 mm tread. Fine $121 (MVA s.125). The banner on this page lights up in season.

Where are the border-crossing cameras?

Filter “Border cams”, or use the live wait-times page, which already shows Peace Arch, Pacific Highway, Aldergrove and Sumas with CBP/CBSA minutes.

Prices on this page are estimates for planning and can change — check the operator, venue or booking site before you pay.
